Ayurvedic massage

Ayurvedic massage is a central point of Ayurveda. Its objective is the balance of the "doshas".

Ayurvedic massage is thought and practiced in a unique way, for each person, depending on the constitution of the body, which is specific to each human being, and on the imbalances of your doshas.

The benefits of Ayurvedic massage

Ayurvedic massage has different properties that help you stay healthy and feel better in your body.

  • It increases body heat and improves blood and lymphatic circulation.
  • It strengthens your immune defenses against diseases.
  • It facilitates the elimination of toxins from the body.
  • It revitalizes the body and mind
  • It allows a freer flow of energy

Based on the 7 energy centres of the body - the famous "chakras" - the Abhyanga Ayurvedic massage is above all a rebalancing treatment.

The Principle the masseur will act on the "nadis", the energy paths on which pressure points are distributed, to allow the vital energy, the "prana" in the ayurvedic tradition, to circulate freely and harmoniously throughout the body.

The objective : a general well-being, both physical and mental. The Abhyanga massage is both tonic and enveloping, alternating slow and deep maneuvers with more rhythmic and superficial ones. Through circular and sliding pressure, friction, accupressions but also stretching, the Abhyanga massage will bring relaxation and harmony to the body.

No part of the body is left out, from the scalp to the toes, from the fingers of
the hand and palms, areas where a lot of tension builds up.

The benefits of the Abhyanga massage:

Emotionally, it is known to act on our moods by helping us to temper them. It can be most beneficial for nervous and stressed people. It increases our vital energy, helps us concentrate and helps us better manage our emotions.

On a physiological level, it improves the circulation of body fluids, digestion, and the functioning of the nervous system. It also works the joints and muscle tone.

The ayurvedic massage with "kizhi" herbal pouches is derived from Ayurvedatypical of the Kerala region of India.

The pouches containing herbs are heated in sesame vegetable oil. They remove dead skin cells, nourish and lubricate the skin. Their action relaxes the muscles? Hot sesame seeds and oil diffuse their properties.

It is an Indian massage of the soles of the feet which is practiced using a bowl called "kansu" made of five metals, the main one being copper, and Indian clarified butter "ghee". The "ghee" can be replaced by a hot Ayurvedic oil such as sesame oil, or Pitta oil which helps to balance the fire element.

In many traditions, feet are considered a reflection of the body and any action performed on the feet interacts with the body. Indian tradition has adopted this theory and implemented a form of reflexology, based on Ayurvedic knowledge.

The gestures consist of applying energetic and increasingly intense pressure on the skin, taking care to stimulate each part of the sole of the foot, thus activating the good circulation of vital energy throughout the body.

This massage aims to treat not only the reflex points of the feet but also the five elements at the same time: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether which, according to Ayurveda, are the fundamental components of the human being.

The virtues of the Kansu bowl massage:

It is a massage particularly recommended to balance the Fire element, it brings a very deep relaxation of the whole body and regulates sleep.

It fills you with gentle, soothing sensations, to the point that it is often used to treat anxiety, nervousness, stress and insomnia.
