Visceral massage in Geneva

A therapeutic and well-being massage

What is a visceral massage?

Visceral massage is a manual therapeutic massage related to vital energy. Originating in China, this practice aims to work in depth on the organs of the abdomen to release negative energies and help the organs work more efficiently, while harmonising the emotions.

It relieves intestinal disorders, releases emotional blockages and helps the body's internal organs to function more easily. The intestine, "the second brain of our body", then functions harmoniously.

The visceral massage acts on both the physical and the psychic, as it releases emotions and promotes relaxation.

How does a visceral massage session work?

Before starting a visceral massage, the therapist looks at two things in order to make the connection to the different organs:
- the emotional state of the client
- the quality of digestion: from the mouth to the anus

Depending on the imbalance of the organs, the therapist can adapt the massage to the patient.

The session begins with a moment of relaxation during which you are invited to breathe deeply. This step allows the belly to prepare itself for the massage.

Visceral massage consists of stretching and balancing all the organs related to digestion, the urogenital system and elimination. The therapist therefore focuses on the abdomen by massaging the internal organs deeply. The specialist's movements will be deep to restore tone, vitality and mobility to the organs.

Contrary to popular belief, visceral massage is a gentle and very slow massage to work on each organ. During the session, the patient is active as he/she has to accompany the massage movements with inhalations and exhalations.

The lungs, stomach, liver, gall bladder, spleen, duodenum, small intestine, large intestine, kidneys, bladder and uterus (externally) can be worked on. Adherent tissues such as the pleura, peritoneum and meninges can also be worked on.
